The 40-year-old pop star and Storm revealed in December that they are expecting their first baby together - and Ronan thinks his wife is perfectly suited to the challenges of motherhood.

Ronan said: "I have got a hell of a woman and I am excited to see her as a mum. Please God it all goes well."

The Irish hunk, who recently admitted he'd like to reunite his old band Boyzone in 2018, already has three children with his ex-wife Yvonne Connolly.

But Ronan has insisted the imminent arrival of his fourth child won't dampen his enthusiasm to work.

In fact, the chart-topping singer claimed his work ethic is key to his longevity in the music business.

Asked to name his greatest achievement, he said: "Well, in my career, it's my longevity: 25 years and I'm still here. I am still doing it. I'm still hungry."

And Ronan claimed that young people should heed his advice and adopt a similar approach to their own lives.

Asked if he's instilled a work effort in his own kids, Ronan - who is the father of Jack, 18, Missy, 16, and Ali, 11 - told the Metro newspaper: "They know how much I work by the sacrifices I make when I am not with them - that's hard.

"But I think the younger generation needs to work a little bit harder. Social media and the way we live has just made people lazy."

Meanwhile, Ronan recently claimed Storm will be an "incredible" mother, saying she has all of the necessary attributes.

He told HELLO! magazine: "She's a real Earth Mother. She's a very grounded woman, she's excited about being a mother and she has that natural ability and connection.

"I'm very excited to see her in that situation. We're over the moon, we cannot wait."
