The 29-year-old mixed martial arts star lost her Bantamweight belt in a shock loss to Holly Holm last November, and while it was only her first defeat in the sport the blonde star considered killing herself because she didn't think her life would be worth living afterwards.

She said: "Honestly, my thought, I was like, in the medical room and I was down in the corner.

"I was sitting in the corner [thinking] like, 'What am I anymore if I'm not this?' And I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second, I'm [thinking] 'I'm nothing ... what do I do anymore and no one gives a s**t about me anymore without this.' "

The star admits her boyfriend, UFC fighter Travis Browne, effectively saved her life because she stopped having suicidal thoughts when she saw him and starting thinking about having kids instead.

She explained: "To be honest, I looked up and I saw my man was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.

"I don't know if I'd have made it without him."

While Rousey is looking forward to a rematch with Holm, she now admits there were positives that came from her defeat.

Speaking on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', she added: "Maybe winning all the time isn't what's best for everybody ... maybe I had to be that example of picking myself up off the floor."
