The 41-year-old actor got in touch with the rapper last year during the General Election in the UK and wanted him to pen a track that highlighted all the political unrest.

Tinie told Q magazine: "Around the time of the elections he asked me to help put a track together, get a few people like Paloma Faith involved as a sort of protest song.

"I wasn't sure if it was what I should be doing but I hooked him up with some producers. It never happened in the end but I hope there's no bad feelings."

Meanwhile, Tinie has been hard at work on his studio album and says it will be a "nostalgic" record.

He said previously: "Basically, I'm 27 now. I brought out 'Pass Out' when I was 21, it all went tremendously well... What dos it sound like? Very nostalgic, to genres that influenced me growing up. The UK doesn't get enough credit for grime, drum 'n' bass, dubstep.

"[It has] a British feel! Electronic, grime, hop-hop, many epic, colossal bangers! I can't compare it to anything, I'm in a predicament."
