Ryan Gosling never planned to be a world famous movie star.

Ryan Gosling has claimed it was never his ambition to be a famous Hollywood actor and he was content just having a career as a working actor.

Ryan 33, rose to fame following the success of his movie 'The Notebook' starring opposite Rachel McAdams in 2004 and has since graced the big screen in films like 'Crazy, Stupid, Love', 'The Place Beyond The Pines' and 'Gangster Squad'.

However, Gosling claims he never dreamed of being a Hollywood A-lister and was just content having an acting career when he started off.

He said: "I never thought about being a film star. But I came further than I ever thought. I have done incredibly well. I have had the same manager from the age of 14 and the same agent since I was 16. Now I can repeat and work again with the directors I like."

Now he is a mega-star and has achieved critical acclaim, Gosling avoids reading about himself or his movies on the web and actually tries to stay offline as much as he is able to.

In an interview with Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, he explained: "I don't read what people said of me on the internet. The internet is like a minefield to me. I just simply don't enter there."
