The 39-year-old actor travelled to Edmonton, Canada, to show Connor - who is battling High Risk A.L.L., a form of childhood leukaemia - to show him his superhero movie before anyone else in the world because he is such a huge fan of the Marvel Comics character, who gains his special powers after undergoing an experimental mutation treatment to cure his own cancer.

In a Facebook post, Reynolds - who plays the titular character in the movie - said: "Ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls. This is my friend, Connor McGrath. He's quite possibly the biggest ‪#‎Deadpool‬ fan on earth. He was also the first person ever to see the 'Deadpool' film. Like Wade Wilson, Connor's trying to put cancer in his rear-view mirror. About 6 weeks ago, I travelled to Edmonton Alberta to show Connor the movie at his hospital. Of course, the Deadpool was right up his alley because Connor's the funniest, potty-mouthed Canadian mercenary I've ever met.

He's my friend. I know lots of celebrities jump up and down touting a cause - and maybe I'm no different. But holy frozen s**t-slivers, I love this kid. He's the GREATEST. (sic)"

Reynolds - who is married to Blake Lively, with whom he has 14-month-old daughter James - shared the post to raise awareness of Connor's Crowdfunding campaign to bring in funds to pay for the life-saving treatment he needs.

The Hollywood superstar has personally donated to Connor's fund which currently stands at $20,000 and has a $800,000 goal.
