Sadie Frost has hinted her divorce from Jude Law, which was finalised in 2003, was "incredibly stressful and destructive" but admits it feels like a "million years away" now.

Sadie Frost's divorce from Jude Law was "incredibly stressful and destructive".

Opening up about her break-up and resulting divorce eleven years ago the 49-year-old star likens her divorce to a "mini-personal war" in her upcoming wellbeing book, 'Nourish', but despite the pain of her separation, she admits it feels like a "million years away" now.

The actress - who starred opposite Jude in 2000 gangster movie 'Love, Honour and Obey' - writes: "[Divorce] can be incredibly stressful and destructive.

"Sometimes it becomes a mini-personal war in which no one is the winner apart from the lawyers."

When asked if that was her experience with Jude, she told The Times newspaper: "It's also a lot of my friends' experiences. My divorce feels like a million years away, but [yes], I guess that it's the experience for most people going through a divorce.

"Is there any such thing as a good divorce? Well, if people aren't supposed to be together and their relationship isn't working, then the right thing to do is get divorced and try not to make it messy."

While Sadie - who has three children, Rafferty, 17, Iris, 13, and 12-year-old Rudy with Jude - didn't enjoy the experience of separating from the actor, she has a good relationship with the 41-year-old star nowadays.

She added: "Time ... is a healer."
