The 'Writings On The Wall' singer has transformed his lifestyle in recent months and has lost over 40lbs by following a diet devised by nutritionist Amelia Freer - the author of the book 'Eat. Nourish. Glow'.

Sam is currently away from his native UK for work commitments in America and he has been searching for images of the British culinary classic because he's feeling "homesick and hungry".

The musician uploaded a tasty image of traditional battered cod and chunky chips to his Instagram account and he captioned the post: "So I'm sitting in bed googling pictures of fish and chips. This is a mixture of being home sick and being hungry. I'm a strange lad I know - but how FIT does that look? (sic)"

Since changing the food he eats, Sam - who has been suffering from a throat infection the past week - has confessed he thinks about his favourite calorific treats like tuna melt sandwiches and McDonald's burgers a lot.

He previously said: "It's a struggle every day and there are McDonald's everywhere. Every time I see one I want to munch down on a McMuffin!"

The 23-year-old star piled on the pounds while promoting his smash hit debut album 'In the Lonely Hour' around the world.

Discussing his poor diet, he admitted: "I love food, but my relationship with food has just completely changed ... Now I go to bed dreaming of tuna melts ... During the process of this album, I just was getting bigger and bigger and bigger."
