Peter Rombough, 22, was dished an eight-week prison sentence suspended for two years at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on Monday (21.12.15) after he admitted to travelling 93 miles to deliver handwritten love letters to the actress and camping outside her home in Bedfordshire.

The 43-year-old actress, who plays malicious Ronnie Mitchell in the BBC soap, told the court the incident led to her fearing for the safety of her children Benjamin and Lily.

In a statement read to the court, she added: "These events have had a massive impact. I can't stop thinking about it. He's a total stranger but I'm concerned about his well-being and do hope he is okay and needs to seek some help."

Prosecutor Josephine Jones told the court Rombough first went looking for the property in May but could not find the house, before going to the home again on September 3.

On September 10, Samantha saw a light outside her house in the early hours of the morning and sent her husband Mark to investigate the frightening situation.

He found Rombough sitting on a wall and asked him to leave but CCTV footage showed he stayed in the vicinity.

Magistrate Robin Hornby also made Rombough, who sought psychiatric help after an earlier hearing, subject to a two-year restraining order and a mental health programme.

At an earlier hearing the court heard how the man admitted to police that his fantasies about the actress began in 2009 when he was just 16 years old.
