The pop superstars are "best friends" and the 'Good For You' hitmaker has revealed that she thinks it is inevitable the pair will join forces on a musical collaboration in the future.

Asked whether the she would team up with the 'Shake It Off' singer for the ultimate duet, Selena replied: "Oh, I don't know. I mean, eventually, right?"

And the singer - who is firmly a part of Taylor's renowned squad which also includes stars such as Lena Dunham, Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, and the Haim sisters - teased fans and added: "She's my best friend. We'll see!"

However, timing is likely to be the biggest barrier to the collaboration, because Selena - who released her album 'Revival' last year but is also an actress - is passionate about a number of movie projects she's been working on.

The star had a cameo in 'The Big Short' and she'll also be seen in 'Neighbors 2' with Chloe Grace Moretz, but for now, she's concentrating on 'The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving', which is out later this year and is a project she was desperate to be a part of.

Speaking about the film at the Sundance FIlm Festival, she told E! News: "When I met (director Rob Burnett) I don't think he would of put somebody like me in that character but I auditioned three times, I fought for it and I knew that it was something that would mean a lot."

Meanwhile, Taylor has jetted back to Los Angeles after wrapping up her '1989' world tour at the end of last year.
