The 'Divergent' actress may have carved out a successful career by starring in a number of successful movies but she has admitted she prefers to snuggle up with a book after a long day on set rather than get engrossed in a movie.
She explained: "I don't really watch any other things. I don't know how people find time to watch movies. I would love to watch more. At the end of the day it's either watch movies or read a book and generally the novel wins."
But, if the 24-year-old star does find the time to slip on a film, she prefers to watch her movies because she can critique her performance in order to improve for her next role.
She said: "I don't know if it's enjoyable but it's something I'm grateful for. It's a way of critiquing what I do, so I know better for the next round how I can adjust and grow my strengths."
Shailene shot to fame after she starred in 'The Fault in Our Stars' as cancer patient Hazel Grace Lancaster in 2014 and, despite her down to earth attitude to life, she has admitted she was concerned fame would go to head and ruin her life.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, she said: "I think at first I was worried about my anonymity. Then I realised my life hadn't changed and as long as I could stay true to that I don't think any external force could really affect me."
