Tamara Ecclestone and Jay Rutland were officially married on Monday (01.07.13) - just weeks after their huge wedding blessing in France.

The Formula 1 heiress and broker Jay made their union legal at the Kensington & Chelsea Register Office at Chelsea Old Town Hall in London.

Tamara wore a plain cream dress, and the brief service - which had to take place so the couple's marriage is legal in the UK - was witnessed by just her sister Petra and her husband James Stunt, but the witnesses still threw confetti on the newlyweds as they exited the building.

The modest service was very different to the lavish, three-day wedding blessing which took place on the French Riviera, which cost a reputed £3.5 million.

Tamara invited over 150 guests to the celebration, including Jason Statham and his girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Paris Hilton, Sir Sean Connery and Nicola Roberts, while Sir Elton John, Lionel Richie, Calvin Harris and Mark Ronson all performed.

The extravaganza - which featured a 30-minute firework display - was paid for by Tamara's father, is billionaire Formula 1 mogul Bernie Ecclestone, who rented out the entire Grand Hotel Du Cap-Ferrat in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat at a cost of £650,000.

Speaking about her new husband, Tamara, 28, previously said: "When I met Jay, I knew this was the man I was going to marry. I've never been in a relationship before where I've been able to be myself and feel so comfortable so quickly."
