Swift has dated the likes of John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Harry Styles admits she constantly has to work on the "core" relationship she has with her fans.

She said: "People always talk to you about marriages and relationships, and they say relationships take work, and you have to keep surprising each other.

"And that I think the most profound relationship I've ever had has been with my fans. That relationship takes work, and you have to continue to think of new ways to delight and surprise them."

Taylor 24, also reveals that she felt like she was able to take risks with her latest album, '1989', because of the special relationship she shares with her loyal supporters.

Explaining that an artist can't just assume that because their fans liked one of your albums, they're going to like the new one, so  it's ok to make it exactly the same as the last one.

"You can't just assume that because they were gracious enough to make you a part of their life last year, that they're gonna want to do the same thing this year. I think that core relationship needs to be nurtured."

Swift mixed a lot of things that were brand-new in her career and life, to what she says you would call the'campaign' of the album. Things were never even tried before, but they just felt right because it nurtured that relationship.
