Lisa Snowdon One half of the stunning representatives of BAA talks about travel aiports and essentials that a girl needs on any tripHow often do you fly - to where, from where

I'm lucky - often I find myself travelling to the USA and Europe for work and pleasure and to Europe or to catch up with my friends. Normally I fly from Heathrow for transatlantic but in Spring and Summer if I'm nipping off to Europe, places like Spain and Italy, I try and fly from Stansted as it's my local.

How much time do you allow before check in - do you get there early or not

I like to be organised and leave at least 1.5 hours for check-in as I hate to rush.

What do you do between check-in and departure

Grab a bite to eat and post any last minute letters and of course take advantage of the great shopping at the airport.

How do you pack - light, everything? Carry on bags only, lots checked in? What do you include in your hand luggage?

If I'm going away for longer than a week I take a suitcase and check it in but I'm good at packing light and quick - years of modelling, travelling and living out of a suitcase has trained me well.

In my hand luggage I always have my camera, iPod, make-up bag, tooth brush, cleansing products, clean underwear, socks and a change of clothes in case anything goes missing at the other end - and of course my passport.

Luggage - type and brand
  • Mulberry Roxanne Hand Bag
  • Mulberry Ledbury (Large) Bag
  • Mandarina Duck or Samsonite suitcases

Travel tips - planning, packing, stuff to do on the flight, things you couldn't travel without

I have a very disciplined ‘capsule' suitcase: 1x pair of high, sexy shoes, 2 x flip-flops, Converse trainers, at least 2x bikinis, 3x sarongs, 1x boho skirt, 1x jeans, at least 1x glamorous outfit, minimum 2x handbags and 3x belts, plus an assortment of jewellery and underwear.

Suitcase contents/'can't-travel-without' essentials

Sunglasses, iPod, books, tracksuit, socks, underwear, phone, camera, rechargers.

Pre-holiday beauty tips - treatments and products

I really only ever go on sun holidays so in my experience I prepare myself for the beach.

So it's waxing at Red Door (Elizabeth Arden). I use fake tan myself with a self tanning spray. Facial and body treatments at the MediLift Centre. Cut and colour my hair at Richard Ward and Nicola, my friend and fantastic beauty therapist comes over and gives me a manicure and pedicure. I always travel with a body scrub, which I use before and during my holidays, to keep my skin soft - I like citrusy fragranced ones. I also use very high factor sun protection.

Favourite shops - airport, highstreet, overseas boutiques

I like to browse in Cartier, Chanel and Gucci and if something special grabs my eye I splash out. I enjoy popping in to World Duty Free at the airport and trying out perfumes - I can never resist a new scent. Lancaster tan maximiser, YSL lip gloss and Touche Eclat are my regular airport buys.

I always hit Boots and the Body Shop for last minute must haves - cotton wool, Gillette Venus razor and shaving gel, L'Oreal eye make-up remover and Optrex eye drops (all from Boots) - Body Butter and Vitamin E Cream (from Body Shop).

I always pick up books and magazines at W H Smiths and the other book stores and I visit HMV for last minute sounds. If I'm visiting friends in either Spain or the US Harrods is great for quintessential English gifts.

Best thing about shopping at the airport

Once I've checked in and passed through security it's like an oasis, all these shops under one roof, an hour or so to kill and you are on holiday "the perfect recipe" for guilt free shopping. I also love the fact when travelling in Europe you don't have to take your shopping with you - you can just pick it up when you arrive back!

Favourite products:

  • CD's - Jill Scott, Athlete
  • Books - Paulo Coelho, Marian Keyes and any good autobiography

Favourite holiday memory

I have been really lucky and have had some fantastic holidays and trips for work. All of them have been so varied and each one is always totally different form the last. I have so many wonderful and happy memories I couldn't possibly choose one.

What would you eat/drink at the airport before you travel.

It depends what time of day I am travelling and how much time I have after shopping.

If I'm travelling with a friend I like to go to the seafood bar - other times I'll got to the airline lounge and grab a snack. If I'm really in a hurry and it's a short flight I pop into Pret A Manger. On long haul flights I always drink loads and loads of water and eat light and healthy food.
