I always get a kick out of people enjoying my book. Thank you. I only revealed my identity in the second edition which incidentally was published 3 months after I left Top Gear. I guessed it would be of interest to a lot of people and that seems to have been correct because it’s now sold over 70 000 copies.

Obviously you’re not just ‘The Stig’ but you have also raced and tested Formula One cars, so if you were to join a team for the 2010 season, which would you pick?

McLaren is my favourite team but being a Ferrari Formula One driver is just about as cool as it gets. Millions of beautiful Italian women wanting to date you! Hmmmm yup! Ferrari it is!

Personally I’m going for Red Bull Racing, because I might be a little bit in love with Vettel, but I know as a Brit, I should be backing the all-British team of Button & Hamilton, do you think that’s going to make an interesting watch or is it a time bomb ticking away?

Hey, I really like Sebastian Vettel as well he’s a fantastic talent and lovely bloke. But sure, two top Brits in the McLaren team is amazing. Jenson’s going to have to be on top form to match Lewis. In my opinion, Hamilton is already one of the best ever Formula One drivers. There’ll be pressure but that’s normal in Motor Racing.

Okay, feel free to pass on my number to Sebastian…. Anyway, we both know that the roads are quite often filled with young lads racing up and down in their modified cars - which really isn’t the place for it - but they quite often have the aspiration to be racing drivers of some shape or form, what advice would you give to them to get them off the road and onto the track?

I’m afraid to say I was a bit too quick on the road when I was a kid but I never had anyone to advise me that driving that way was (and is) really dumb! I’ve learnt a lot and try to steer any trainee Stigs in the direction of Karting circuits which is a cheap way to go flat out without endangering road users.

Okay Perry, so finally, our readers would kill us if we didn’t ask but we all saw Schumacher ‘reveal’ himself as The White Stig, but please tell us it isn’t true, we love the mystery….

No way!! I can’t tell you that! Next you’ll be wanting me to tell you that Murray Walker is actually Santa Claus! Sorry ... ex Stig has gone quiet!

Could you not just give as a teeny clue as to where we should be looking? I love playing detective!

Do you also say ‘My wife loves your programme?’ Sorry Colombo ... no clues coming from this Stiggie!

Haha, okay, well thanks ever so much for your time Perry, it’s been an honour speaking to you, and if you’re ever at Oulton Park, FemaleFirst will shout you a coffee!

Black, no sugar please! Stig kisses to all!

FemaleFirst kisses back!
