Strictly Come Dancing stars Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace chat with us about how to keep fit and stay in shape and beauty products they couldn't live without

You're professional dancers, what sort of tips would you give to someone who is just starting out and wants to use it as their main form of exercise? 

Flavia - Go to group classes. There are lots throughout the UK and you will get a full body exercise and make friends.  If you don't have time for classes, try a video at home, preferably one of mine and Vincent's!

Vincent - I agree, dancing is such a sociable way to tone the body and have fun and for men a great way to meet lovely ladies too

Which type would you say burns the most calories and gets a whole body workout? 

V & F - Any of the faster dances  like Samba, Jive, Swing and Charleston

Do you do anything else to stay in shape? 

V & F - The occasional trip to the gym and walking, but we don't really have time as we are performing in 8 shows a week for Midnight Tango at The Aldwych in London and then go out on a UK tour. For Strictly, we rehearse all week with our celebrity partners during the TV series, so that keeps us really fit too.

What's your ultimate exercise tip? 

Vincent - Do what you enjoy. Too many people fall off their regime because they get bored.

On Strictly, the fashion and the beauty is as much a part of the production as the dancing, are you personally interested in this side of it? Do you like to be involved in the decision making of this? 

The fashion and beauty is important as it adds the glamour to the live shows and we obviously have fittings, but after doing the show for so many years, the wardrobe and makeup departments know us well and what will work. Also, the costumes depend on what the theme and song choices are, so the whole Strictly team work within those guidelines.

What's your daily beauty routine? 

Flavia - Shower, wash and style my hair and apply light make-up. I use dermalogica active moist cream on my face and then St. Tropez body butter on my body.  

 Vincent - Shower and get dressed for the day.  It's easier for boys! 

Which three beauty products couldn't you live without? 

Flavia - St. Tropez tanning products as we use them for our shows and they keep you looking good all year round. I use Bronzing Mousse for an instant golden tan and St. Tropez Body Polish in between tanning sessions. I also like St. Tropez Naturals Self Tan for Face as it’s hydrating as well as adding a lovely colour.   

Vincent - I use St Tropez too. I think everyone knows that on shows like ours we go through more tanning products than most people but it does look good on stageand it also gives us a lovely colour all year round. 

What's your ultimate beauty tip? 

Flavia -  Test the products thoroughly for your skin type and colour before splashing out

Vincent - Great after shave which really suits your skin type and personality. It can work wonders
