Arctic monkeys ruled out then? They are surely an example of a real indie band, Domino is an independent label, they only signed there because they agreed to give the band total control. They do everything themselves, barely do advertising, and got their original fame by handing out free cd's. They still concentrate on giving their fans as much music as possible rather than making money.
