If the dog reacted violently to the disturbing sound of the fireworks (as likely happened; don't forget , dogs and animals in gneral have MUCH more sensitive hearing than we do)then if it was suffering"bloat" at the time, it's internal organs would be much more susceptible to injury done by the dog running into solid objects while desperately trying to escape the distressing sounds. Thus, Ms. mills IS in fact responsible for the dog's death; if there had not been the vain display of fireworks, selfishly undertaken for a child too young to appreciate them, the dog would have recovered from its temporary indisposition and be alive today.
