With a talented home-grown cast including Martin Freeman (Hot Fuzz, The Office), who shines as the primary school teacher Paul Maddens assigned the dreaded task of putting on the St. Bernadette’s Nativity play alongside his over-enthusiastic classroom assistant Mr. Poppy (Marc Wootton; Confetti).

Competing against rival upper class local school for the honour of best reviewed Nativity play in town, the stakes are raised when scrooge-like Paul Maddens idly boasts that his beautiful ex-girlfriend Jennifer, (Ashley Jensen; Extras, Ugly Betty) a Hollywood producer, is visiting the UK especially to see his show - with a view to turning it into a film.
The only problem is they haven’t spoken in years. With childishly hyperactive assistant Mr. Poppy fuelling his ‘little white lie’, Maddens suddenly finds himself a local celebrity and at the centre of arguing parents and over-excited pupils desperate to shine in their bid for fame and fortune.
Unfortunately the lie finds itself with understandably elated headteacher (Pam Ferris; Gavin and Stacey, Little Dorrit), and Maddens is forced to pull together a spectacular show whilst trying to figure out how to break the news that no movie executives are going to be descending on the town any time soon.
Madden’s only hope is to contact Jennifer and convince Hollywood to come to Coventry to make everyone’s Christmas wishes come true..!
