In 1987, Rick Astley released ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’, which spent five weeks at the top of the British Charts, making it the year’s biggest selling single, as well as topping the charts in over 16 countries. It recently became the most viewed pop video of all time on YouTube with over 21million views to date due to the Unstoppable phenomenon of ‘Rick-Rolling’.

This Ultimate Collection album will coincide with the ‘Here And Now’ tour which Rick Astley is headlining and kicks off in Manchester on the 9th May, travels through to London and finishes in Newcastle on the 18th May.

The phenomenon of ‘Rick-rolling’ has taken over the world. Most recently there has been an incredible increase in the number of people being rick-rolled online. This had happened after users clicked on a link to a film of a misbehaving celeb only to be redirected to Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ video. On April 1st 2008, YouTube ‘Rick-Rolled’ their site so that when people clicked on the YouTube homepage they were re-directed to the ‘Rick-Roll’ homepage. On this one day ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ received well over 6 million plays in one 24hr period, worldwide.
