Mirabelle Butterfield (CLAIRE DANES) is a shopgirl, languishing behind the glove counter in the Beverly Hills' Saks Fifth Avenue department store, while nurturing dreams of being an artist.
Ray Porter (STEVE MARTIN) is a successful entrepreneur on the move, who has chosen the singular life, unencumbered with commitments.
Jeremy (JASON SCHWARTZMAN) is a young man, who takes his first risky step off the couch and into the world -- through the music amplifier business; a couple of self-help books and a cross-country tour in a rock 'n roll bus.
And in this 3-sided microcosm of contemporary Los Angeles life, based on Martin's best-selling novella, these people are talking, laughing and, most importantly, learning about love.
