The House of St Barnabas is excited to announce a season of live music events and conversations, featuring some of today’s most exciting curators, producers, musicians and creatives. The Autumn Culture Series at The House of St Barnabas has been conceived as a showcase of rising talent that will simultaneously invite guests to discover the work of the charity, and offer a sneak preview of the forthcoming House of St Barnabas club, coming in 2013.
The House of St Barnabas is a charity and venue in the heart of Soho. Since its foundation as a charity in 1846, The House of St Barnabas has strived to realise its vision of a future where sustained employment is a reality for those affected by homelessness.
The work of the charity is supported by the not-for-profit member’s club, which launches in 2013. The Autumn Culture Series looks forward to this exciting phase in the history of The House of St Barnabas, and invites new and old supporters to re-connect with the charity.
THE MUSICAL SERIES: GILLES PETERSON, ANDREW WEATHERALL, ROB DA BANK
Three of the UK’s most esteemed and influential DJs and producers have come on board to curate three special nights of live music in the inimitable and atmospheric setting of the Chapel of the House of St Barnabas.

A night of music with the hugely influential and respected DJ and producer Andrew Weatherall, featuring a specially curated line up of talent.
With live music from Pete Molinari (acoustic) and Johnny Trunk
Thursday 6 December: Rob da Bank and friends
BBC Radio 1 DJ, Bestival founder and music aficionado joins the line up of curators to present a night of live music from his pick of rising UK talent

THE CONVERSATIONALISTS SERIES: PRESENTED BY RICHARD STRANGE
The long-time supporter of The House of St Barnabas Richard Strange, (musician, writer and bon viveur), returns for 2 special editions of his ‘live chat show.’, A Mighty Big If. Previous guests have included Michael Nyman, Gavin Turk and Mike Figgis. Expect scintillating conversation and stimulating debate.
Tuesday 23 October: A Mighty Big If: Richard Strange in conversation with Gary Kemp
Songwriter, musician, actor and broadcaster Gary Kemp first came to prominence in the early 80’s with his hugely successful band Spandau Ballet. Richard will be talking to Gary about all aspects of his life and work, and it is hoped that he will tempt Gary to bring his guitar to the interview for some “unplugged” versions of songs from the Novello Award-winning composer.
