The Day of the Dead

The Day of the Dead

Wahaca's first ever celebration of The Day of The Dead is at The Old Vic Tunnels from 31st October - 3rd November. The four day festival is co-produced by Nomad and The Embassy of Mexico in the UK, who together have selected some of the best talent in art, film and music to celebrate this cultural occasion.

Wahaca's four-day fiesta of music, food, art and film will include Rodrigo y Gabriela with their unique instrumental blend of metal, jazz and world music. The tunnels will be transformed with Wahaca's very own temporary street kitchen and Mezcalaria bar, where bartenders will be serving cocktails made from award winning tequila Olmeca Altos, along with an exhibition of work by highly acclaimed Mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide, and newly commissioned installations of visual arts by the London based Le Gun collective, British artist Hew Lock, and Nancy Fouts.

Daytime entrance offers the opportunity to view the exciting visual arts show and enjoy screenings of the Alejandro Jodorowsky classic film Santa Sangre.

Evening tickets priced from £30 include, in addition to the visual arts show, access to the headline music concert Rodrigo y Gabriella, screening of Santa Sangre with performance of a new live score by the Cabinet of Living Cinema, a Mezcaleria experience and more late night revelry with Communion DJs.

Tickets are now available to buy from the oldvictunnelsor website and the Box Office 0844 871 7628.
