The London Bike Show

The London Bike Show

The UK’s largest bike exhibition, The London Bike Show returns to ExCeL London from 17 – 20 January 2013, and promises visitors a fantastic day out. In three years the event has grown from 50 to over 150 exhibitors, 3,000sqm to 14,000sqm and organisers VOS Media are very excited ahead of the show.

The event sees the integration of the IG London Nocturne into The London Bike Show, creating the UK’s first indoor criterium and providing visitors with fast-paced, competitive racing and a fantastic viewing spectacle. Racing will take place each day of the show and the programme includes both an Elite Men’s and Women’s Criterium, a number of support races, a youth race; and both folding bike and penny farthing races. Registration for the racing will be open soon.

Brands confirmed to be at the show include Genesis, Ridgeback, Pinarello, Assos, Schwalbe, Marin, Wilier, Brooks, GoPro and many others. For visitors looking to buy their first bike, upgrade, looking to buy their child a new bike, looking to purchase a top end road bike, or just wanting some new clothing or accessories, The London Bike Show offers a great opportunity to do so. Many exhibitors will have show specific offers and the show’s a great opportunity to check out some of the newest bikes on the market. Up until late afternoon each day the 500m plus IG Nocturne circuit will serve as a test track, allowing visitors the opportunity to test out some of the latest and hottest bikes.

The Cycling Stage, which has been part of the first two London Bike Show events, is back, but with a new focus - performance. With this in mind the stage has been renamed the Jaguar Performance Stage. Speakers will include coaches and experts who will be looking at how personal performance can be improved through better technique, nutrition and the way cycling is approached, as well as essential bike maintenance and tuning. That’s not all, the theatre will also host a number of team launches, including that of the hotly anticipated Team Madison Genesis and Q&A sessions with some of Britain’s top cyclists.

For visitors looking for a personalised and tailored experience, the BikeRadar Training Hub returns to the 2013 show. Run by experts from Koolstof Coaching, the hub offers professional fitness and training advice for a fraction of the price available independently. With sessions lasting around 2 hours, visitors will have their Vo2 Max tested, receive a spin scan analysis and much more, before receiving a personalised training plan designed to help with achieving goals and taking performance to the next level. Tickets are extremely limited.

For the finest examples of the latest bikes and innovations within cycling visitors should head to The Cool Wall, a display handpicked by experts from the world of cycling,

And there’s more racing, this time in the form of the DMR Pump Track Challenge.  The UK’s best riders will race head to head on two 200m long timber tracks over rollers and beams as they bid to become the champion.

That’s not quite everything! The London Bike Show will once again run alongside The Outdoors Show, The Active Travel Show and the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show. With a ticket to The London Bike Show allowing visitors access into all four shows, there will be lots more to see and do, helping to create a great, affordable day out for the whole family.

The London Bike Show takes place from 17 – 20 January 2013 at ExCeL, London alongside The Outdoors Show, The Active Travel Show and the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show, with tickets valid for entry to all four shows.

The London Bike Show launched in 2011, where as The Outdoors Show has been running for 11 years. The Active Travel Show was launched in 2012. The three events combined with the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show at ExCeL London in 2012 and attracted an audience of 85,912, making it the largest consumer event in Europe for outdoors enthusiasts.

The London Bike Show, The Outdoors Show and The Active Travel Show are organised by VOS Media. The Tullett Prebon London Boat Show is organised by National Boat Shows, a subsidiary of the British Marine Federation.
