'Desperate Housewives' star Felicity Huffman claims being a mother is "boring" The 42-year-old actress, who plays mother-of-four Lynette Scavo in the hit TV series, says being a parent is not as much fun as it appears and has robbed her of her own identity. She said: "I find motherhood boring and I find it trying. I am cranky and yelling at least once a day and. If not out loud, at least in my own head. I'm tired, run down and I look old." Meanwhile, the TV star - who has two children with 'Fargo' star William H Macy - says she sympathises with women like her on-screen character Lynette, who become hooked on drink and drugs to cope with parenting. The blonde babe confessed her own mother turned to alcohol and praised TV bosses for raising the subject of addiction in the series. She told Britain's Closer magazine: "My mother raised eight children and I remember so many times her losing it and screaming. I think that exists in most of the childhoods of people I know. Lynette takes drugs to help her through the day. It's a big problem in the States because Ritalin is widely available. But in the 50s they took other things. My mom drank. You've got to reach for something."
