If you dream about having cancer yourself and you don't have it in real life then it could mean that you are not paying close enough attention to yourself. Perhaps you spend too much time focusing on others and don't address your own needs. Try to keep in mind that you are just as important as your family, partner and friends and you're allowed to be a little bit selfish sometimes.

The dream could also be acting as a warning- if you suspect you are not well- it might be time to pay a visit to your doctor to get checked out.

Another interpretation is that you have feelings of hopelessness, sadness, self-pity or a lack of forgiveness in your waking life. Perhaps you think you're wasting your life away and need to do something in order to make it feel fulfilled again. Maybe you need to talk to a professional or someone close about the negative feelings you've been having.

It can also represent an area of your life that is a source of constant stress- something that is worrying you to the point of eating away at you. It might be time to address this issue to relieve the burden on your thoughts. This could be a toxic person or relationship- so consider others who might be putting you at risk too or negative thoughts or behaviours that you need to put a stop to.

If someone else had cancer in your dream, you may be harbouring negative thoughts towards the very same person in your waking life. Perhaps it’s now appropriate to forget, forgive and move on. This bad feeling- although directed at them- is also hurting you so let go and move on.

The very nature of cancer means that it spreads quickly, so there may be something in your waking hours that is taking over- a lie, some gossip or even some bad news.
