The Bourne Ultimatum DVD Review

The Bourne Ultimatum was, by a long shot, the best movie in this year's sequels summer and it's now blasting it's way onto DVD.Where other franchises crashed and burnt, after quite literally pushing the boat out too fa, Bourne kept things simple with Bourne hunting for answers, that like him, the audience so desperately wanted.Ultimatum picks up where Supremacy left off Ward Abbott (Brian Cox) is dead and Pam Landy (Joan Allen) has the taped confession.On the surface the Treadstone project appears to be dead but in the form of Noah Vosen (David Strathairn), who will stop at nothing to kill Bourne, it lives on.Bourne however is still trying to navigate himself down memory lane hopping from country to country, city to city visiting Moscow, Paris, London, Madrid, Tangiers and New York.While many of this year's franchises have got worse with every release Bourne has broken this trend getting better and better with every release.

Ultimatum is a fast paced thriller which uses the streets of London and Tangiers as a backdrop to the high octane action.

With the role of Jason Bourne, Matt Damon has cemented himself as a bona fide leading man and a major Hollywood player.

Here he is a force of nature as the shot, beaten and blown up silent assassin who is ploughing down anyone who gets in the way of discovering the truth.

British director Paul Greengrass, who joined Supremacy, deserves a slap on the back for not getting caught up in the action and keeps his eye on delivering answers to the audience and not getting lost in the complexities of the plot.

This is one of the best films of 2007 and one of the best action movies period!
