50 Cent has signed on to upcoming police drama movie 'Caught in the Crossfire'.

The hip hop star - real name Curtis Jackson - is due to appear on the big screen alongside Adam Rodriguez, Chris Klein and Richard T Jones in the forthcoming action-packed film.

'Caught in the Crossfire' - which was written and will be directed by little-known filmmaker Brian Miller - will see two homicide detectives caught in the middle of gang problems, corrupt police officers and copious amounts of violence.

The rapper will play a gang member who is forced, reluctantly, to become an informer for the police.

The project will be co-funded through 50 Cent's Cheetah Vision company and filming is already underway in Grand Falls, Michigan in the US.
