Adam West thinks the 'Batman' film franchise is too "violent".The actor, who played Batman in the original 60s TV version of the superheroes adventures says that the films have don't have the same spirit he originally created for the character.West told website Den of Geek: "I think our Batman had to be fun, light-hearted, funny, tongue-in-cheek and I think that made kind of homage to those earlier comic books, where Batman always had a quip or something. "If I were doing it today, I'd make changes, I wouldn't make it as violent, as loud, as noisy, with the explosives going on and on...the crashes... I'd just make the relationships more important."West, now 79, made 120 episodes of 'Batman' for American network ABC in the late 60s, including a movie.Despite saying he'd do the present day films differently, he doesn't take issue with the current actor playing the superhero, Christian Bale.West added: "I like Christian Bale. I've heard he's a big fan of mine, but I certainly reciprocate. I think he's really very good. I'd love to play his father."
