Alanis Morissette Shocked By Pregnancy

Alanis Morissette is overjoyed about her pregnancy - because it came as a complete surprise to her.
 
The Canadian singer revealed she is expecting her first child with new husband MC Souleye earlier this week (11Aug10) by announcing in Us Weekly magazine, "I am pregnant!"
 
The Ironic hitmaker has now opened up about the "very happy" news, writing on her Twitter.com page, "Yes, happy news.... I'm pregnant :) we're so excited to start our family."
 
Morissette later appeared on U.S. talk show Chelsea Lately to reveal her shock at the news: "I talked to my doctor and he basically said, 'This looks like the screen of a pregnant lady'.

"And I said, 'There's still chance that I'm not though, yes?' And he said, 'About as likely as me getting a sex change.' And I said, 'So when are you getting your sex change?'
 
"I actually thought I wasn't (pregnant). I just sort of in passing had said I was a little late. He said, 'Is that normal?' I said, 'No that's not typical for me'.

"He goes, 'Let's take a quick look'... I was very happy."
