Alec Baldwin Diagnosed As Pre-Diabetic

Alec Baldwin vowed to lose weight after he was diagnosed as a pre-diabetic last year (11).

The 30 Rock star has been showing off a leaner figure in recent months after eliminating sugar from his diet - and now he's revealed it was a serious health scare that inspired him to get fit.

The actor opened up about his medical condition at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday (29Jan12), telling Entertainment Tonight reporters he received the diagnosis on 10 May (11) and subsequently changed his eating habits in a bid to stop the onset of full-blown type 2 diabetes.

He also confirmed he has shed 30 pounds (13.6 kilograms) of weight since giving up sweet treats.
