Alex Rodriguez confirms split from Cameron Diaz

Alex Rodriguez says that he will 'always be friends' with his now ex-girlfriend Cameron Diaz.

The actress began dating New York Yankees player Rodriguez last year, although she only admitted they were a couple in May.
 
Reports suggesting the fiercely-private pair had parted ways surfaced last week - and now the sportsman has revealed the rumours are true.
 
He tells People.com: "I have a lot of love for Cameron. We'll always be friends."
 
Diaz has previously romanced Justin Timberlake, while Rodriguez was linked to Madonna and went on to date actress Kate Hudson.
