Woman Jailed for Stalking Idol Singer

A cyber-stalker has been jailed for more than two years for hacking into former American Idol contestant Diana DeGarmo's emails.

Tanya Quattrocchi, 23, pleaded guilty to four charges of stalking aftershe was caught intercepting DeGarmo's personal communications and breaking into her account on MySpace.com.

She also hacked into the email accounts of the singer's mum Brenda and a pal, model Donielle Morris.

The Victoria County Court in Australia heard Quattrocchi, of Melbourne,was sentenced to 150 hours of community service in 2007 for blackmailing DeGarmo and stalking her over the Internet.

She was re-arrested in January this year (09) after resuming her harassment campaign.

Sentencing Quattrocchi to 26 months in prison, Judge Lisa Hannan said DeGarmo had been left feeling constantly vulnerable as a result of having her personal communications hacked into.

DeGarmo came runner-up in the 2004 season of American Idol, and went onto record an album and appear on Broadway in Hairspray.
