Amitabh Bachchan Recovering After Surgery

Amitabh Bachchan is recovering in hospital after undergoing abdominal surgery on Saturday (11Feb12).

The 69-year-old actor was admitted to the medical facility for a four-hour operation after suffering ongoing pain in his abdomen.

Bachchan has yet to reveal details of his condition, but he is rumored to have been treated for a hernia.

The star took to Twitter.com shortly after the surgery to assure fans he is recovering well.

In a series of posts, he writes, "Back...!! Thank you for your prayers... Your love and wishes never fail... indebted for life...

"Took almost 5 hrs (sic) on the OT (operating table), but could feel the concern and wishes of (fans) every minute...

" Took long because 2 surgeries had to be done on either side... Yes there is pain, but nothing good in life (is) ever achieved without it!"
