Anna Nicole Smith's Dad Dies

The father of late model Anna Nicole Smith has died after losing his battle with lung cancer.

Donald Hogan was buried on Tuesday (22Sep09) after passing away in a hospice, where he had been living after refusing to undergo treatment for his condition.

His daughter, Amy Chapman Hogan, tells EOnline.com that "he had a lump in his chest that kept giving him a lot of pain. But, for some reason, the X-rays didn't find it. By the time the doctors diagnosed it he was in the last stages of lung cancer.

He just wanted to go home

 "He just wanted to go home. We just buried him on Tuesday. It's been a tough week".

And Chapman Hogan insists the 62 year old would have been pleased that Smith's lover and lawyer Howard K. Stern was arraigned on Wednesday (23Sep09) - because he had always blamed Stern for his daughter's death.

She adds, "Dad would have been really happy about that". Stern is charged with 11 felony counts of conspiring with two doctors to provide prescription drugs for his companion, who died of an overdose in 2007.
