Antonio Banderas is planning to expand his Spanish vineyard by opening a hotel onsite - and he'll show off his expertise by holding conferences onwine.

The Desperado star is the co-owner of Anta Banderas at Duero River in northern Spain, a winery which specialises in red and rose wines as well as Merlots and Cabernet Sauvignons.

I have plans to revitalise this project with conferences, forexample, on wine and literature, and I want to promote wine tourism

And now the actor is stepping up his business by making plans for tourists to visit.

He says, "I have plans to revitalise this project with conferences, forexample, on wine and literature, and I want to promote wine tourism. "In fact, we are studying the possibility of building a small hotel to welcome wine enthusiasts because it is a marvellous place".

And he's pushing for the company to increase its production from 600,000 bottles of wine per year to two million, before concentrating on selling in the U.S. "After this number (two million) we would have to think of expanding the winery.

We want to stabilise ourselves first in the Spanish and European market and then focus on the American market".
