Ashley Roberts has finished in second place on Britain's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! survival series.

"I don't think the U.K. had any idea who I was as an individual, so it's pretty crazy that people have been picking up the phone and voting for me."

The former Pussycat Doll has spent three weeks living in the Australian jungle with fellow stars including boxer David Haye, 1980s singer Limahl, and veteran British actor Colin Baker.

Roberts came second in the viewers' vote on Saturday, losing the Queen of the Jungle title to soap star Charlie Brooks in the grand finale.

The singer has won an army of fans for braving challenges including sleeping in a coffin and jumping into a vat of slime, and she hopes her appearance on the show will help her launch a career in the U.K.

She says, "I'm excited that people will get to know me as Ashley Roberts and not just a Pussycat Doll. I don't think the U.K. had any idea who I was as an individual, so it's pretty crazy that people have been picking up the phone and voting for me.

"I'm A Celebrity has been an amazing ride and I'm walking out of here with some amazing friendships".
