Belinda Carlisle was once so high on drugs she missed five flights to London. The flame-haired singer became addicted to drugs after forming all female band The Go-Gos and it almost ruined her life. She told Seven magazine: "I was meant to be flying from Los Angeles to London and I missed five consecutive planes because I was stoned. That's when I knew everything was out of control. "Looking back I could easily have died. In many ways it amazes me that I didn't."Belinda - who also scored solo success with 'Heaven is a Place on Earth' and '(We Want) The Same Thing' - says she is still famous in the US, but never gets recognised in France, where she has now settled.Belinda, 48, said: "It's very weird actually - I go off to Las Vegas and all these people are going berserk. And then I come back to France and nobody has a clue who I am. But that's the way I prefer it. Here, if I see anyone staring at me, I just assume they are mad."
