MURRAY FED UP WITH BEING HOUNDED BY 'SAVAGE JERKS': Hollywood actor BILL MURRAY hates being famous because it exposes him to more "jerks" than the average person gets to meet.
The LOST IN TRANSLATION star deliberately keeps himself out of the public eye as much as possible, just to avoid the attentions of obsessive fans.
Murray says, "It's better not to be easy to reach.
"In all our lives, we meet a certain number of people that we like, a certain
number who are pleasant but forgotten, and a certain number who are downright
pesty.
"If you are famous, you meet thousands more of each kind. And the real savage
jerks keep calling - you've gotta watch out for these miserable people.
"I caution you on that."
Recent movies RUSHMORE and LOST IN TRANSLATION have won Murray rave reviews, but he insists he owes his success to THE BLUES BROTHERS star.
Both Murray and Belushi, who died from a drugs overdose in 1982, starred on hit US TV show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE in the late 1970s.
