Bill Nighy was vowed to camp out with protesters at an Occupy Wall Street-inspired rally outside London's iconic St Paul's Cathedral.

The Love Actually star is spearheading a campaign to implement a new super tax, dubbed the Robin Hood Tax, on the wealthy, which would see a levy imposed on large financial transactions and distributed among good causes.

He is full of praise for activists taking to the streets around the world to campaign against corporate greed, and he has pledged to show his support for campaigners in the U.K. capital.

Nighy tells Britain's Daily Telegraph, "I've got to go and stay with the protesters in the tents at St Paul's.

"The dignity of those people and the power of the protest impresses me greatly. I'm going there to campaign for the introduction of the Robin Hood tax so we can institutionalise charity-giving."
