The film is the English-language adaptation of best-selling author Moebius’ comic book series, altered and modernized with a supernatural spin.

This explosive western reinvents the genre as it follows the adventures of Lieutenant Blueberry, blending action, adventure and fantasy and leading the audience into frantic chases through a realm of mystifying magic rituals, set against a backdrop of stunning landscapes.

Produced by La Petite Reine and Ajoz Films, the film is directed by Jan Kounen and features famous French actor Vincent Cassel (The Brotherhood of Wolves, Crimson Rivers), Juliette Lewis (The Way of the Gun) and Michael Madsen (Kill Bill).

The director of Photography, Tetsuo Nagata, was awarded for Best Cinematography at the 2002 French César Awards. Principal photography of this supernatural western begun on April 2002 and finished on August 2002.The French release is scheduled on february 11th, 2004.
