Brad Pitt collected an award for his role in 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford' in Venice, Italy, yesterday (27.08.08).

The actor - who is at the Venice Film Festival to promote new movie 'Burn After Reading' - took to the stage at the festival's opening ceremony to pick up his Best Actor award, a year after he was given the honour.

As he accepted the gold cup accolade from the mistress of ceremonies, Brad said: "Well, you can run but you can't hide. It was an honour to receive this last year and it's an honour to receive it this year. Thank you very much."

Brad's presence at the festival - which he is attending with his 'Burn After Reading' co-star and close friend George Clooney - is his first public appearance since partner Angelina Jolie gave birth to the couple's twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline in July.

'Burn After Reading' - directed by the legendary Coen brothers - is in line to win the prestigious Golden Lion prize, which will be awarded to the best film on the festival's closing night on September 6.
