Brad Pitt reportedly turned down a $5 million (Gbp3.1 million) paycheque so he could spend Halloween (31Oct09) with his family.

The movie star was invited to be the guest of honour at the Grand Prix Ball Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates - and would have pocketed the cash just for showing up.

But he opted go trick-or-treating with partner Angelina Jolie and theirkids in Hollywood.

We were told he would be attending as the guest of the Tourism Development and Investment Company, but he was a no-show, and nobody seemed to know why

He switched his tuxedo for a DJ Lance Rock costume and hit the streets.

The charity ball closed three days of celebrations surrounding a Formula One racing event.

Festivities featured performances by superstars such as Beyonce, Aerosmith and Timbaland.
