Despite the CGI and special effects used in the movie, the actor admits he took some knocks during filming.
He explained: "We really were getting plunged underwater. We were bouncing down off of what we affectionately called the 'cheese grater wall' because it was made of this sort sharp stucco to create a rocky surface. One misstep, and zing, raspberry on the elbow. Hook me up with another Sponge Bob band-aid."
'Journey to the Center of the Earth' is released in cinemas later this week.
