No Trek return for Spiner

'Star Trek: The Next Generation' star Brent Spiner has ruled out a return to the hugely successful franchise. The actor - who played Data in the sci-fi show and subsequent films - made the announcement as 'Star Trek' celebrated its 40th anniversary on Friday (08.09.06), despite rumours claiming he would be making a cameo appearance in the new movie. He told BANG Showbiz: "I don't think I should play Data anymore. I think I'm too old to play Data. "I think it would look stupid putting that make-up on me at this point. There are certain characters that I think work in a youthful way and I think I really skated along the edge in the last couple movies as it was." However, Spiner insists he could be persuaded if was offered a generous amount of money. He quipped: "Having said that, you'll see the movie now and I'll be there in all the make-up… then you'll know I got a very sweet deal."0Comments | Be the first to comment!
