Brittany Snow Interview

You’re a fan of the genre
.Brittany: I’m a huge fan of ‘80s uh, high school movies. I mean actually it’s one of my favorites. ‘Breakfast Club’ is maybe one of my favorite movies. ‘Pretty In Pink", ‘Sixteen Candles’, ‘Ferris Beuller’s Day Off’, those ones like, ‘Saint Elmo’S Fire’ are awesome and so I think that this, you know, it’d be nice if this could be remembered like that, I mean that would be an honor you know, but you never know, it’s always it’s always up in the air but I think this falls into the category like them with movies that are about high school but they’re also about bigger issues, um, and there’s a huge message as well, so it has a, you know, some heart into it and intelligence.
How aware are you of DVD now
Brittany: I am a DVD freak, like I I have a huge, you know, tape coll--collection because I’m a huge movie buff, but then I had to spend a million dollars it seems like and buy everything on DVD because I wanted the bonuses, the added scenes and like the deleted scenes and the commentary. I can watch a movie for like four hours because I watch it and then I watch it with commentary and then I watch the like the deleted scenes and I’m I’m one of those really geeky people that I can’t finish a DVD until every single feature on the menu is is you know, through, so I love it.
What are you most proud of
Brittany: Yeah, I think um, I loved playing the girl that I think every girl in high school can kind of relate to and and sometimes you know, that girl in high school isn’t exactly you know, pointed out, the girl who is kind of invisible and isn’t the best and isn’t the worst, isn’t the dorkiest girl, isn’t the prettiest girl. She’s just kind of there and and that’s how I felt a lot high school, kind of like, "okay I got to get to my class and hope that it goes well,’ you know, nothing crazy and so I loved playing a character that is universally like every girl trying to find themselves and and figure out what’s going on in high school and who she is, um, and I think that the performance, you know, is kind of over the top because I’m a little bit, you know, dorky and and and weird or whatever but I think that it was fun to play somebody with so much, you know, like almost naïve to what was going on and just wanting to be liked it was really fun.
Do you have a favorite sequence
Brittany: Um, yeah, there’s actually a few but I would definitely have to say that one of my favorite scenes is Jessie when he gets PMS. I wasn’t even there but it was brilliant the way he like captured what a girl goes through when she gets PMS and then in an interview recently, um, he goes, "what was your--" somebody asked him, "what was your motivation for you know, finding out what PMS was like." He’s like, "well I just took, you know, my advice and learned off of somebody over here," and he pointed to me and I was like, "I am not the most emotional one." I mean I kind of am. I wear my heart on my sleeve, but he I guess took notes from me about how to like, you know, got crazy or whatever. That’s so scary. But um, I love that scene. I think he’s hysterical so I think I would definitely want to watch that scene over and over.
Did you try to one up each other
Brittany: No, not at all. It was it was really cool because I think all of us really respected each other. We all, I was kind of scared of Ashanti because she’s one of my favorite, you know, artists and I love Sophia and I’ve known her for a while and I’ve known Arielle for a while and I think we all just really understood that we had different characters, different personalities in real life and we just all kind of meshed really well. Our differences made it even, you know, more amazing to hang out with each other and we never, ever had one fight, never had one moment of, you know, trying to challenge each other or get a line in better or something. It was it was just like so gracious and just fun. It was it’s really rare so it’s amazing.
Why should we see this
Brittany: Um, I think it’s a really good feel good movie that at the end of the movie you can feel just like you’re you’re almost like, "wow, that was so much fun," you know, cause you are getting, you know the comedy and the laughs but you’re also getting a lot of witty humor and some heart, you know, with some messages and there’s a mother, daughter relationship, there’s the girlfriends, you know, sticking together relationship and then there’s the guy against girl thing and I think it has something for everybody. I mean you get to see me in underwear, Jesse in a thong, me and Sophia guessing and Jennie McCarthy, I mean there’s nothing else better too, so I think that has a lot to do with it.Fox Home Entertainment
