Busta Rhymes' Multi-charge Trial Delayed....
Busta Rhymes will have to wait until November (07) to stand trial on charges of assault, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
The hip-hop star, real name Trevor Smith, appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court in New York on Wednesday (05Sep07), expecting to stand trial over four separate incidents.
Smith is accused of beating fan LeBron James on Randall's Island, New York in July 2006 and his driver Eddie Hatchett in December (06).
In February (07), he was arrested for allegedly driving on a suspended license and aggravated driving, then three months later (May07), he was stopped again and charged with driving while ability impaired and driving while intoxicated.
The same month, he rejected a plea deal to spend 12 months in jail for all charges.
In court on Wednesday, Judge Larry Stevens delayed the trial until 7 November (07) after both the prosecution and defence said they weren't ready.
