"What happened to me was that after a couple of weeks, I was a little bit - a little bit - strange to myself. There was something that was not familiar. It was like, 'What am I doing here?'" Carla Bruni & Sarkozy Win Airline Lawsuit....Former supermodel Carla Bruni and her new husband, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, have successfully sued a budget airline after the firm used a photograph of the couple without permission. The pair was awarded $90,000 (#45,000/60,000 euros) in compensation after arguing that Irish company Ryanair published their picture in an advert without seeking the proper authorisation. The sum falls well short of the 500,000 euros ($740,500/#370,250) which Bruni originally demanded, whereas Sarkozy only requested a symbolic payment of just one euro ($1.47/73 pence).
Ryanair, based in Dublin, was also ordered to have the court ruling printed in Le Parisien newspaper, where the advert appeared last week (ends01Feb08).The offending image was accompanied by a caption which read: "With Ryanair, my whole family can come to my wedding."After months of rumours the couple finally wed in an intimate ceremony in Paris on Saturday (01Feb08).
