Charlie Sheen insists his baby son Max is "gradually going toward normal" after a health scare earlier this month (Apr09).

After the tot was kept behind when twin brother Bob left hospital, rumours circulated that Sheen's son had a heart condition and was fighting for his life, but the actor was quick to dismiss the stories, and now he has spoken about his sons' first weeks as part of a TV news show.

He and wife Brooke Mueller Sheen invited news show Entertainment Tonight into their home to talk about the stress and strain of the twins' premature birth.

The actor admits there was some truth to the heart condition stories - but it wasn't quite as serious as the media suggested.

He explains, "Max has something called ejection fracture. It's the volume at which the heart pumps and how much blood the heart can pump. There wasn't anything that any other premature child, especially a twin, doesn't normally go through.

She would have been in serious jeopardy had they stayed in longer". Max and Bob were born on 14 March (09).Charlie Sheen

"The reason he had to stay longer in the hospital than Bob was a weightissue". But his wife admits she was shocked when she first saw the newborns tied up with tubes and monitors

"It was scary. I went to see them and wordscan't express how amazing and shocking (it is) to see two human beings that came out of me. But I was scared. Our babies had so many tubes on them, it was frightening".

And Sheen reveals they had no choice but to bring the birth forward because his wife was suffering from preeclampsia, gestational diabetes and cholestasis.
