Christina Applegate's Bronchitis Struggle

Christina Applegate faced a traumatic first trimester while she was pregnant with her baby girl after coming down with a bad case of bronchitis.
 
The Anchorman star and her fiance, musician Martyn LeNoble, welcomed little Sadie Grace in January (11), but Applegate admits the early stages of impending motherhood were hell - because the illness, coupled with her out-of-control hormones, turned her into a weeping mess.
 
She tells People magazine, "You don't want to be nauseated and coughing up a lung. It was horrifying.

"I slept in a dark room for two months, crying, going, 'This cannot be the way this is supposed to be!'"
 
Applegate, who beat breast cancer in 2009, previously confessed to experiencing terrible mood swings that would make her unleash her temper on strangers at any given moment.
