Firth 'I'm Too Old to Be a Sex Symbol'

British heartthrob Colin Firth is convinced he'd never get any female attention if he wasn't an actor - and insists he's too old to keep carrying his sex symbol mantle.

The Love Actually star shot to fame with his portrayal of Mr Darcy in 1995's Pride And Prejudice, famously winning the hearts of female film fans by appearing in soaking wet clothes.

But Firth has always struggled to get his head around the fact he's lusted after - and is adamant the attention will soon stop now he's hitting middle-age.

I certainly wouldn't get the attention I get if I hadn't been on screen

He tells Britain's Hello! magazine, "I think I'm getting a bit old for that stuff now, aren't I? I suppose that because of the profession I'm in, I do get a certain amount of attention that I probably would not get ifI had not been known.

"I certainly wouldn't get the attention I get if I hadn't been on screen".
